Updates, Updates, Updates

Hi All,

I haven’t been blogging all that regularly, so I figured I’d fill you in on what I’ve been up to. For one, I’ve been finishing up mid-terms and trying to stay afloat in my last semester @ Naropa. I think I might make it. I’ve also been working out (strength training) with a couple of close friends and trying to maintain a decent meditation practice. Talk about juggling the bizalls…

I’ve also been working hard (in my spare time) on a new project that I’m really excited about, BuddhistGeeks.com. I can’t leak too much, but I can tell you this is a non-integral project—meaning mostly that we aren’t going to be using integral jargon or necessarily marketing it to just the integral world. What I’ve realized is that the integral niche is fairly narrow, and that in order to really affect people with novel ideas, we have to cloak those ideas in language and concepts that they are at once familiar with, but that also begs them to step out of their current positions, or at least challenge them. We’re hoping that we can do that with our written work, as well as with a weekly podcast. The podcast will most likely be interview-style with various Buddhist scholars, teachers, and advanced practitioners that we think have a valueable perspective to offer. I can’t give specifics here, but I can tell you that we’ve already begun recording dialogues and I think this will be one of the coolest Buddhist offerings on the web once we roll it out.
