I was recently asked to share some thoughts on the evolution of dharma & technology for a series on Evolutionary Landscapes. Here is a little excerpt from the original piece:
As I look around I see the “digital” and “real” worlds are quickly converging, and the result is going to be a future that we probably can’t quite imagine. Because of this shift, I think that the deep wisdom of the Buddhist tradition (and of all wisdom traditions) is needed now, more than ever. Without the wisdom to open to change, it’s very difficult to know how to respond appropriately to the world around us.
Having been an “integral” geek for quite some time, and of course a Buddhist Geek, it was nice to reflect on some the ways that contemplative traditions are changing in response to modern conditions, and how I’m personally riding the waves of change with my own projects.
