"To advance, I retreat!” – Dr. Roger Walsh
An immersive retreat is an opportunity to dedicate all of your time and energy to the development of your contemplative practice. It’s also an opportunity to step outside of your normal day-to-day roles & responsibilities and take a new perspective on what it means to be human. When done in a supportive environment of fellow practitioners and with the support of those who have dedicated their lives to the same journey, an immersive retreat can be a powerful catalyst for one’s contemplative development.
This particular immersive will be led by retreat leaders Vincent Horn & Emily Horn and will take place in the rolling mountains of Western North Carolina, at the Sanctuary in the Pines Retreat Center in Flat Rock, NC (just outside of Asheville).
“Program or be programmed.” – Douglas Rushkoff
In this mind hacking immersive retreat we’ll focus on upgrading the inner operating system–moving from a self-referential way of knowing ourselves and the world to a more centerless and open hearted way of knowing. Inspired by the Buddhist wisdom tradition we will offer techniques that train the attention, work to deconstruct fixed identity, & awaken the heart.
Much of the meditation practice will be done in silence, but periods of social meditation and group discussion will also be used as an opportunity to ground the practice in a relational context. There will also be regular small group meetings with retreat teachers to check-in and get feedback as the retreat progresses. The schedule will be announced to those who register prior to retreat.
